SELLOUT AT ANACAPA IN ANAHEIM PROMPTS BROOKFIELD TO CREATE NEW COMMUNITY IN HISTORIC COLONY DISTRICT
ANAHEIM, CA — When it comes to creating successful communities that pay tribute to Anaheim’s rich 150-year history, Brookfield Homes Southland just might be an expert. Since partnering with the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency five years ago, the Costa Mesa-based builder has been responsible for creating some of the city’s most revered new-home communities, including Picadilly, Cantada Lane, Cantada Square, and Anacapa, which recently sold out due to popular demand. Fortunately for those people who want to own a Brookfield home in Anaheim, they will soon have another opportunity at Colony Park, a collection of 339 new residences coming soon to the Anaheim Colony Historic District. “Because we’ve formed such a long and rewarding partnership with Anaheim, we have a responsibility to create new housing that reflects the unique history and spirit of this city,” said John O’Brien, Vice President of Urban Development for Brookfield Homes. “Our upcoming community, Colony Park, will not only live up to the strong tradition of success we’ve built in Anaheim but also give O.C. residents a renewed sense of pride. They can rest assured that Colony Park will display the same style, warmth, and details found at all of our top-selling neighborhoods like Anacapa.” Located on the northeast corner of South and Olive Street, Colony Park will offer two new-home collections featuring condominiums and townhomes. The neighborhoods of Legacy and Harmony at Colony Park in the Anaheim Colony Historic District are anticipated to go to sale in spring 2007. Legacy and Harmony at Colony Park will showcase both Early Californian and French Normandy architectural styles, which reflect the historic nature of the architecture in downtown Anaheim. Future onsite amenities will include a pool and pavilion with turf area. A portion of the homes at Colony Park will also meet California’s affordable housing requirement. Colony Park will be part of a large-scale revitalization effort in the historic district of downtown Anaheim. The transformation includes new townhomes, apartments, and a mixed-used project located adjacent to City Hall and two blocks from Colony Park, which will include retail space, rental and condominium residential units, and parking. More information on the upcoming Colony Park neighborhoods by Brookfield Homes can be obtained by emailing info@colonypark.com. Brookfield Homes Southland has a long history of contributing to the growth and stability of Anaheim. In 2005, the builder was honored by the California Redevelopment Association (CRA) with an Award of Excellence for Cantada Square, a neighborhood of single-family detached homes in West Anaheim. In addition, Brookfield Southland continues to donate to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Anaheim’s Motel Outreach Program in an effort to improve the quality of life for Anaheim residents. Throughout the last decade, Brookfield Homes Southland has remained committed to being more than a homebuilder. The company is a lifestyle provider comprised of a dedicated and knowledgeable team of professionals that continually redefines the elements of home while creating architecturally distinct and intimately personal living spaces that Southern California residents are proud to call home. The neighborhoods at Colony Park will be no exception. Brookfield Homes Southland is independently and locally operated with offices in the Greater Los Angeles/Orange County area, and part of one of North America's largest home building companies, Brookfield Homes Corporation. The parent company also has community development and homebuilding operations in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego area, Virginia, Maryland and Hawaii. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Brookfield Homes Corporation is a public company. Information on Brookfield Homes is available at brookfieldhomes.com.
