SIBLINGS CHOOSE COLONY PARK AS THEIR FAMILIES' NEW-HOME COMMUNITY

ANAHEIM, CA —Ruth Aquino and her brother Reynaldo Reyes aren’t just siblings who are close, they are siblings who live close to each other. This past summer, Ruth and her husband Juanito purchased a home at Colony Park, and it wasn’t long before Reynaldo and his wife Lyndy followed suit. Now, the siblings—and their respective families—are neighbors who enjoy all the benefits of Anaheim’s popular new-home community.

When the families began their new-home search more than a year ago, they had no idea they’d find everything they wanted in the exact same community. As first-time buyers, they dedicated a good amount of time to their search. They considered older single-family detached homes and visited other new-home communities. Yet, none compared to the style, warmth, and details of Brookfield Homes’ Colony Park.

Although not the first to purchase, Reynaldo was the first sibling to discover Colony Park. After seeing the new-home collection, he encouraged Ruth to visit. Ruth and her family selected Colony Park’s Legacy Plan Three; Reynaldo and his family selected Colony Park’s Legacy Plan One.

“My wife and I looked at other communities, but we can’t even remember their names!” said Reynaldo. “Colony Park is perfect for our two children and us. We really like our kitchen and two patios, which opens up the space even more. Our kids love the pool and community park.”

Ruth wholeheartedly shares her brother’s enthusiasm. “The first time we saw Legacy’s Plan Three, we were at home and in love,” she said. “We longed to live in Orange County, especially Anaheim, so we we’re thrilled about Colony Park’s location near downtown Anaheim. We also consider ourselves lucky to have Anaheim’s lower utility rates and love our floorplan’s cozy living room with built-in home theater system, the gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops and Java-stained cabinetry, the elegant master bedroom with relaxing huge tub. The fact that the community is part of the Historic Colony District, is another plus for us,” Ruth added.

While many prospective homebuyers are still sitting on the sidelines, the Reyes and Aquino families knew that now was the perfect time to buy.

“Today’s housing prices are good, interest rates are low, Colony Park has no Mello-Roos, and we were able to take advantage of federal tax credits,” said Reynaldo. “It worked out perfectly for us and we were eager to provide a place for our growing kids to call their own.”

According to Juanito, Ruth’s husband, the timing of their first home couldn’t have been better. “It’s a buyer’s market and fortunately, we were able to use Brookfield’s builder incentives and the Federal tax credit. Not to mention, Colony Park’s home prices are very attractive,” he said.

Colony Park’s resort-style private amenities, like the pool, pavilion, and park, give the Reyes and Aquino families ample opportunity to relax and spend time together. They also appreciate that their homes are within walking distance, making it easier to spend quality time with family.

“I enjoy living in the same community as my sister and her family,” said Reynaldo. “They live directly on the other side of the park and we spend a lot of time in each other’s homes. Although we don’t see each other every day because of work, living in the same community makes communication and family bonding very easy.”

Built by Brookfield Homes, the Colony Park community is comprised of two neighborhoods: Harmony and Legacy. Both collections reflect the artistry and craftsmanship for which Brookfield is known.
