MULBERRY AT THE PRESERVE AT CHINO WINS COMMNITY OF THE YEAR AT 24Th ANNUAL ELAN AWARDS

THE PRESERVE AT CHINO — Proving once again that their signature combination of style, warmth, and details is as captivating to industry insiders as it is to discerning homebuyers, Brookfield Homes Southland Group was honored with four Gold Awards, including one for Best Detached Community of the Year for Mulberry, at the 2006 Élan Awards, held October 7 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Élan Awards were presented by the Los Angeles/Ventura County Sales and Marketing Council of the Building Industry Association of Southern California.

The Community of the Year honor is one of the event’s most prestigious awards, and is one Brookfield has become very familiar with. Brookfield’s community TREO at Woodbury in Irvine received a Finalist Award in the same category at last year’s event and was also honored as Community of the Year at last year’s Nationals, the most celebrated awards program of the year. In addition, Brookfield was also honored as Best Attached Community of the Year for Cienega at the 2005 MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) Awards, marking the third year in a row Brookfield had received one of the program’s most coveted awards. The builder was honored in 2004 for TREO and the year prior for Citrus in the Summit at Turtle Ridge.

Mulberry was also honored with a Gold Award for Best Sales Office at this year’s Élan Awards, in addition to Finalist nominations for: Best Model Complex Landscape Design; Best Interior Merchandising for Casita 1; Three nods for its exceptional architecture: Best Single-Family Detached Home for Cottage 3, Casita 1, and Casita 3; Best Logo Design; Best Brochure; and Best Signage.

Mulberry Cottage and Mulberry Casita at The Preserve at Chino are two neighborhoods by Brookfield within one spectacular masterplan. Spacious, single-family homes with well-designed floorplans including cook’s kitchens, open living areas, and attached garages characterize both neighborhoods, and a host of distinctive features offer homebuyers comfort and convenience in equal measure. Mulberry Cottage presents distinctive single-family homes with three to four bedrooms and two and one-half to three baths in approximately 1,416 to 1,874 square feet. Mulberry Casita offers three to four bedrooms and two and one-half to three baths in 1,609 to 1,988 square feet.

Cook’s kitchens are the heart of each home, and offer Frigidaire® stainless steel, energy-efficient appliance packages, ceramic tile countertops, Kohler® sinks and faucets, and white-finished, raised-panel (Mulberry Casita) and beadboard (Mulberry Cottage) Thermafoil cabinetry. Additional features of the homes have been well thought out to provide residents with tremendous ease of living, and include pre-wiring for four phone lines, cable TV, high-speed data, and additional RJ6 video capabilities.

With its central location and abundant nearby amenities, The Preserve at Chino is the area’s most exciting new masterplan. The community’s centerpiece amenity, The Parkhouse, welcomes residents and invites new friendships within its 15,000 square feet. Just a short walk from Mulberry, The Parkhouse presents a fully equipped fitness center, spacious meeting rooms, a catering kitchen, a business center, game rooms, and a theater with surround sound, as well as a pool, spa, and lighted tennis courts.

State-of-the-art schools will increase the community’s worth when they open soon within walking distance of the neighborhoods, and the excellent existing area schools of the Chino Valley Unified School District further enhance the way of life for homebuyers at Mulberry. In addition, a joint-use library currently is in the works, and several excellent colleges and universities, including the new $4 million Chaffey College Information Technology Center, are located within a 30-minute drive.

Recreational enthusiasts and nature lovers will have quite a bit to smile about at Mulberry. Here, tree-lined streets and 33 acres of preserved parklands, including ball fields, picnic areas, extensive green lawns, tot lots, and even a butterfly garden, create a spectacular backdrop. Juxtaposed against the area’s stunning natural beauty is the community’s convenience to area workforces; Mulberry’s location close to the 15, 60, 71 and 91 freeways makes Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino County easily accessible.
