HOMEBUYERS GET LUCKY AT BROOKFIELD’S MULBERRY AT THE PRESERVE AT CHINO
CHINO, CA — As Southern California’s premier builder and lifestyle provider, Brookfield Homes continues to look for ways to give every homebuyer an opportunity to experience the style, warmth and details that are synonymous with the Brookfield brand. Recently, the Costa Mesa-based company proved its dedication to making homeownership attainable by unveiling a successful “Lucky 7/07” promotion at Mulberry at The Preserve at Chino. During the month-long promotion in July, hundreds of Southland homeshoppers visited the seven Mulberry models, eager to take advantage of incentives like seven months of no mortgage payments on first trust deed, seven-year buy-down on their mortgage, and a chance to win the Lucky 7 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. In the end, 11 lucky homebuyers became part of the Brookfield family as a result of the promotion.
“Mulberry is an award-winning neighborhood that has been honored twice with the distinction of ‘Detached Community of the Year,’” said Mercedes Meserve, Marketing Director for Brookfield Homes Southland. “Our 7/07 promotion provided several homebuyers—many of whom would not have been able to afford a new home otherwise—with the opportunity to invest in a residence in one of the most prized communities around. In some ways, we consider ourselves lucky because we actually made their dreams of homeownership come true.”
But if you were to ask Shaen and Katie Marks, they might say they were the lucky ones. The couple, who recently relocated to California from Missouri, were the recipients of the grand prize giveaway—a luxurious two-night stay at the Bellagio.
“It’s pretty exciting,” said Shaen, a pastor at a local church. “We’re looking forward to visiting Las Vegas.”
When The Marks toured the models at Mulberry Cottage and Mulberry Casita, they were impressed with the details found throughout the homes. Amenities designed to enhance homeowners’ comfort and convenience include spacious walk-in closets in the master rooms, marble countertops in the secondary baths, charming French doors, and Frigidaire® stainless steel, energy-efficient appliance packages, Kohler® sinks and faucets and white-finished raised-panel (Mulberry Casita) or beadboard (Mulberry Cottage) Thermafoil cabinetry in the kitchens. The homes have also been pre-wired to accommodate the newest technology, allowing for four phone lines, cable TV, high-speed data, and additional RJ6 video capabilities. This intricate level of detail—a quality that distinguishes every Brookfield community—made the homes at Mulberry shine in the Marks’ eyes.
“We heard very good things about Brookfield and that’s why we visited Mulberry,” said Shaen. “We could tell from walking through the models that they were well-designed and well-constructed. It seemed like every detail was considered, right down to the lighting fixtures and the countertops.”
As Mulberry at The Preserve at Chino now enters its final phase, homebuyers only have a few more opportunities to become part of the tight-knit Mulberry community. Whether buyers are looking for a cozy three-bedroom home with a loft or a four-bedroom home with more space to spread out, they will find an inviting array of distinctive single-family detached homes that reflects who they are and what they love most. At Mulberry Cottage, prospects will have their choice of four floorplans offering three to four bedrooms and two and one-half to three baths in approximately 1,416 to 1,874 square feet. Spacious pantries in the kitchens, open living areas, and the convenience of extra storage within the attached 2-car garages add to the appeal of these homes. At Mulberry Casita, three to four bedrooms and two and one-half to three baths in approximately 1,609 to 1,988 square feet provide enough space for a single person or a young family. The spacious kitchens are also suitable for everything from casual meals to fine dining, and separate living and dining rooms provide ample space for family get-togethers and entertaining. Pricing for Mulberry Cottage and Mulberry Casita begins from the mid $400,000s.

Just a short walk from Mulberry is the masterplanned community’s centerpiece amenity, The Parkhouse, which spans approximately 15,000 square feet. The Parkhouse will be the perfect place to build new friendships with its fully equipped fitness center, spacious meeting rooms, a catering kitchen, a business center, game rooms, and a theater with surround sound, as well as a pool, spa, and lighted tennis courts. Residents who have school-aged children will take comfort in knowing that new, state-of-the-art schools will be opening up soon within walking distance of the neighborhoods, while excellent existing area schools of the Chino Valley Unified School District further enhance quality of life at the community. In addition, a joint-use library currently is in the works, and several excellent colleges and universities, including the new $4 million Chaffey College Information Technology Center, are located within a 30-minute drive. Recreational enthusiasts and nature lovers will also appreciate tree-lined streets and 33 acres of preserved parklands, including ball fields, picnic areas, extensive green lawns, tot lots, and even a butterfly garden. Juxtaposed against the area’s stunning natural beauty is The Preserve’s proximity to area workforces; convenient access to the 15, 60, 71 and 91 freeways puts Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino County within easy reach.
