BROOKFIELD HOMES RANKS #1 IN JD POWERS' CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY

Orange County, CA —Brookfield Homes ranks the highest in Customer Satisfaction in the Orange County and San Diego markets, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 U.S. New-Home Builder Customer Satisfaction Study.

Though faced with the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, today’s homebuyers are purchasing homes from builders they trust and have been pleased with the quality construction and customer service rendered. Their perception of Brookfield Homes reflected on the annual J.D. Power survey indicates that the builder is still very much known for its style, warmth, and details. Brookfield has historically stood apart with its keen attention to artistry, craftsmanship, and service that surpass buyers’ expectations.

Among the rating factors, buyers gave Brookfield five out five points, ranking the builder “Among the Best” in Overall Satisfaction, Builder Sales Staff, Workmanship and Materials, Home Readiness, Price/Value, and Recreational Facilities. Brookfield earned four out of five points for “Better than Most” in Builder Warranty/ Customer Service Staff, Design Center, and Construction Manager.

“Fierce competition among home builders has led to a market where only the strongest companies have survived,” said Paula Sonkin, vice president of the real estate and construction industries practice at J.D. Power and Associates. “This is great news for new-home buyers—particularly first-time buyers—since builders are offering unprecedented high levels of quality, value and service at relatively low prices.”

This year’s study indicates that overall customer satisfaction has improved for a second consecutive year, averaging 811 points on a 1,000-point scale. The scores are up 32 points from 2008.

The New-Home Builder Customer Satisfaction Study, now in its 13th year, includes satisfaction rankings for builders in 24 markets. Nine factors are used to determine overall customer satisfaction with new-home builders, including: workmanship/materials, builder’s warranty/customer service staff, price/value, builder’s sales staff, construction manager, home readiness, recreational facilities provided by the builder, builder’s design center, and location.
