PALOMA AT PORTOLA SPRINGS CAPTURES TOP HONORS FOR BEST ARCHITECTURE AT MAME AWARDS
IRVINE, CA – Elevating the success of Brookfield Homes’ Paloma at Portola Springs in Irvine to new heights, the community has won top honors for architectural design at the homebuilding industry’s coveted MAME Awards. In addition to the top award for Best Product Design of an Attached Project, Paloma was also recognized for delivering the best possible homebuying experience to Southern California home shoppers with the award for Best Sales Office in a Model.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that Brookfield Homes has received top honors at MAME for design excellence of an attached community. Previous Brookfield winners included Cienega in Long Beach, Treo at Woodbury in Irvine, Citrus at Turtle Ridge in Irvine, and Coconut Plantation in Ko Olina, Hawaii.
“Our inspiration and motivation is to win the hearts of home buyers,” stated Mercedes Meserve, Brookfield Homes’ director of marketing. “When we also win awards, that’s a bonus, because it means that all the details came together to create an extraordinary, new community that reflects our vision and rewards our customers. The MAME Awards are another indication to buyers that they can purchase with confidence when they fall in love with a Brookfield Home at Paloma.”
Offering a desirable lifestyle amid natural open spaces in the rustic countryside village of Portola Springs, Paloma is nestled along the foothills of the striking Lomas Ridge in a convenient location that is just minutes from the best shopping, recreation and employment centers of Irvine and its surrounding cities, including the entertainment and business complexes of the Irvine Spectrum.
With an impressive selection of both one- and two-story floorplans, Paloma’s distinctive residences appeal to a broad spectrum of home buyers. Living areas extend from approximately 1,723 to 2,530 square feet, including two to four bedrooms and two and one-half to four and one-half baths, and prices start in the $700,000s.
Much of the credit for Paloma’s product design award goes to the expertise of JZMK Partners, the same accomplished team that has created some of the area's finest new-home communities, including Ziani at Newport Coast and Vantage Townhomes in Diamond Bar. Paloma’s Spanish Colonial, Monterey and Santa Barbara-inspired architectural styling reflects its early California heritage, and charming front porches open onto lush greenbelts. In addition, many homes are ideally situated within Portola Springs, just steps away from a neighborhood park, junior Olympic swimming pool and spa, playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and the Clubhouse.
Within the master-planned community of Portola Springs, the combination of distinctive homes and exceptional amenities, including a proposed elementary school, creates the feeling of a true village. The centerpiece of Portola Springs is a 125,000-square-foot village retail center that provides residents with a convenient place to get together with friends and neighbors and acquire all of their everyday essentials. In addition, 100 acres adjacent to the retail center are proposed for a historic park that will commemorate the Gabrielino and Juaneno tribes that once occupied the region as well as the historic Portola expedition of 1769.
With Paloma’s pastoral setting, residents have plenty of elbow room, and while they feel secluded, they aren’t far away, with easy access to the new Woodbury Town Center, Irvine Spectrum, 405 and 5 freeways. Named after the Spanish explorer who, centuries ago, traversed Alta California and once camped near a natural spring that forever marks this place, Portola Springs is envisioned as a village of five distinctive enclaves in Irvine. Framed by the strong presence of Lomas Ridge, El Toro National Wildlife Refuge and the surrounding open space, Portola Springs encompasses 2,600 acres and is expected to provide up to 4,500 residences, a proposed 25-acre community park complete with an 18,000 square-foot multi-purpose community building along with 18 neighborhood parks within its different enclaves. Additional plans include two proposed elementary school sites and the Village Center.
